Upcoming Mambo Events

This month two of our strongest national Mambo communities are holding events for their members. The Italian community and the Thai community will be providing local language workshops, information and networking opportunities for the Mambo users and developers in their areas.

MamboDay Italy kicks things off with a 2 day show, November 10 and 11 in Venice. The first day will focus on introducing Mambo and showing how it can be used to realize accessible web sites according to both W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, as well as with recent legislation in Itay. Moreover, several case-studies will be explored, with reference to public administration portals, and schools. In the afternoon there will be three case studies regarding three big sites based on Mambo: a regional distribution service group, an advanced tourist portal and an European project created and managed by Technological Building Institute of National Research Council. In the evening, in order to involve all the mambers and to get to know each other better, there will be The Mambo Dinner, in a typical Venetian restaurant.

The second day will present Mambo from a more technical point of view. After a discussion of Mambo's future and road map, the technical morning will present a session on Mambo installation under various platforms and a brief on management. After we be a discussion of accessible templating. In the afternoon there are developer seminars aimed at explaining how to develop components, modules and mambots, and examining in particular Ajax integration. The last seminar will be a presentation of a new SEF component.

Each participant will receive a printed copy of a new italian Mambo's manual and a CD-ROM containing a lot of useful resources: all-in-one Mambo's site versions, local servers, various software, components and modules.

The Italian Mamboday, has the patronage of two University, Venice Municipality, O.T.E. the Technological Observatory of Public Instruction Ministry and ITC-CNR, a branch of National Council of Research, that believe in it. It is organized with the assistance of three non profit associations: Supportomambo.it (the site that assembles the Italian community), Mambo Foundation and Equal.it.

The Thai Mambo group, lead by Mambo LaiThai will be holding their third annual gathering for Mambo afficionados on November 26, in Bangkok.

The LaiThai Project Team invites interested users to join them for a one day seminar entitles “LaiThai Talk : Catch up Tech&Trend” on Sunday 26th November, 2006 at 9.00 A.M. – 4.30 P.M. The LaiThai Project and the development team will tell you about their knowledge and experience with new technologies intended to help create an up-to-date CMS project.

In the event, the LaiThai development team will showcase recent technologies and additional components in the project and the most popular components. Moreover, you’ll meet with the core team developer of Mambo and Joomla who will come to introduce the newest version of Mambo. Besides, there will be a case study of succeed in CMS usage in many organizations.

Attendees will receive a Mambo shirt and a CD of useful software. You can learn more about the event and view a full schedule at the Thai Mambo site.
